With only $15,000, Eric Quee of Sierra Leone has stretched his grant from the CCCS to educate 4,089 children. This is an increase of over 1,500 new students in the past year! Three additional sites are now funded to bring the total number of teachers up to 128. By providing stipends for teacher salaries, instead of individual scholarships, more children can be admitted to the schools. The schools are certified by the government but include special attention to Christian education. All children, regardless of their religious background, may attend the school so that it becomes a tool of evangelism.
As the number of students increases, so does the need for basic resources: chalk, pens, pencils, books, soccer balls, volley balls, and computers.
Prayer Request: Thank God for bringing more children to the Lutheran Schools in Sierra Leone. Ask Him to provide the necessary resources for learning and financial resources to increase the meager teacher’s stipends.
